registration questions

Who needs to Register ?

  • Only those who are performing on stage as a participant. All others are free to attend and no Registration is required. You are cordially invited to attend with family and friends and take blessings from Dasaru and ShriKrishna. Please do attend and encourage and support 🙏.

Who can perform ?

  • Kids must be at least 8 years old OR have minimum of 2 years of classical music training. Adults with musical background are welcome with no requirements. 
  • If you are performing in the core Aradhana group, you can still perform in this solo forum. They are separate. Please do mention this in the “Additional Information” section of registration. There is no additional fee/donation needed. 

What all can I perform ?

  • There are three Categories for Registration: Vocal, Instrumental & Dance. One participant can participate in upto two categories max. One entry per person per category. MAXIMUM OF 2 STAGE APPEARANCES (including group participations).
    Examples:
    1. You can sing a song (either in group or solo), and also play an instrument.
    2. You can play an instrument and also dance.
    3. You can sing a song (either in group or solo), and also dance
    4. You cannot sing a solo and also participate in a group vocal. You can only do one of them.
    (Participation in Core Aradhana group rendition and Pillari Geethe group rendition are not counted).
  • If you want to perform something and your item does not belong to any of these three categories, please contact us immediately, we will add it for you

What all can I sing in a song ?

  • Kriti only in order to accommodate large number of participants. No Geethams, Alapana, Neraval and Chitteswaras. Please plan to present in less than 5 mins .

How long can the song be ?

  • Max 5 minutes.  Less than that is appreciated. Due to large number of registrations, we encourage you to be considerate of others and reduce duration as much as possible to around 4 mins. 

Can a song be repeated ?

  • Yes.  There are no limitations for 2024. 

How do I know my song is already selected ?

  • Not applicable for 2024, but you can still check. Click the “Check Availability” button provided below.  This will display list of songs not available. These are taken and and you will need to pick up some other. There are plenty of options and if your song is not in the list, we can add it for you. Just let us know

Can I sing any song of my choice ?

  • Yes. You will be able to sing any krithi. The Kriti will need to be chosen from an available exhaustive list. It will have most popular and commonly known kritis apart from a large repertoire of ‘to be explored’ ones. Your choice should most likely be in the list. If it is not in the list, please let us know, we will add it for you. 

What if my song is not in Dropdown list ?

  • The first possibility is that the song is there but with a different notation. Many of the songs use BARAHA notation which uses capital letters to indicate deergha variation of vowels (A,E,I,O,U) and other variants of consonants within same family for indic languages. This gives a means of showing exact indian pronunciation using English alphabets. For eg: ADidanO ranga is used to write “aadidano.. ranga”.  Another example is “Urige bandare dAsayya”  is used to show “oorige bandare daasayya”. L is for second “la” as in “Mangala” (common in south Indian languages). N is for ‘na’ as in Ravana. Please check to see if this solves your problem.
  • If you are still unable to locate a song in dropdown list (shown in registration later), PLEASE ADVISE US IMMEDIATELY, we will assist you. There is nothing to worry. There are plenty of songs to chose from. We can add more if you need. 

I am a Teacher. Can I do Group Registrations for my students ?

  • YES! By all means. This is recommended and you will have better control over entries & accompaniments too. You will still do one SONG at a time as we need to capture song details for every item. The unit of registration is a song; it could be one performer or many performers in a group. Your entries could be a single solo of a senior student or a group rendition of one item by multiple students. For group items we do need names of every student in that entry. You will enter YOUR email Id instead of student’s id. All communications related to registration will go to your id.

I am a Teacher. Can I do ONE single Payment for all of my students ?

  • YES! By all means. This is recommended. During payment, you will put comma separated list of all student names and YOUR Email instead of students’. We need to match payment with participant names in registration. So we need all those student names. All communications will go to your id.

Can I modify my registration after I submit ?

  • No. Website is automated. Once Registration is submitted, it is final on the website and cannot be altered on the website. Any change requires us to change in the background. For any post-Registration issues/enquiries/questions/change of song or support, please reach out to us immediately at the contact details provided.

Can I do On-the-spot registration on event day ?

  • It is highly discouraged. With the increasing number registrations, to improve service quality and to make it easier for you and us, we have built this automated solution.  It is very unlikely that there will be a time slot available to perform on that day. In  unavoidable circumstances we will try to accommodate, but subject to availability of time. If this happens you can reach Help Desk on event day. 

I submitted successfully but did not get the email ?

  • It probably went to SPAM folder. We saw this happening especially with GMAIL ids. Please check bulk mail/spam folder. If the there was no spelling error in emails, it should have gone out. If you are still missing, let us know, we will forward you our copy.

How much is it ?

  • $20 per participant

Will Fee Include Meals ?

  • No. Due to skyrocketing inflation/increased cost of facilities, it covers participation only. However Prasadam will be served by Annapoorna Cafe of Temple on premises, for a separate fee charged by them. This arrangement also benefits temple.

Can I Pre-Order Prasadam ?

What is the Event Fee structure ?

  • The nominal fee/donation of $20 is to cover the cost of conducting the event. Eventually it goes to temple after expenses.  
  • Basic unit of payment is a PARTICIPANT. For eg: if it is a single solo item, it counts as one unit; if it is a Group solo item, it counts as that many number of participants in that group. 
  • Examples: One participant singing a solo item counts as one participant fee of $20. One group items with 5 participants will count as 5 x 20 = $100. It is by participant. 
  • One participant has two separate entries – One Song and One Instrumental – will count as one entry fee. It is by participant.

I have two entries, one for vocal & one for Instrumental. Do I pay twice the amount ?

  • No. The fee is per participant only. You will need to pay once. However we need to be told about that in Registration section. The last section of Registration questionnaire has a box called “Additional information”. In that section please let us know that you do have two entries and will be making one payment only. Make sure that “Name”  entered on both entries is identical. Without it it will get treated as two entries. 

Is an Entry in Registration (song) considered one Participant Payment ?

  • No. It is the Participant that counts towards payment. Registration item is for management and scheduling only.

Should I purchase Meal coupons ?

  • No.  Meals/Prasadam etc are handled by Annapoorna Cafe of temple on premises open for the duration of the event. You can buy anything on their menu at your convenience.
